This is what you get with Nest Aware
If you have Nest cams you know that having Nest Aware adds features and also a price tag to those features, but you may not know exactly which features exactly so let’s get into it!
As you can see from the image above Nest Aware comes in 3 different pricing models and the only difference in them is the length of time that the video history is saved 5 days, 10 days or 30 days. I personally feel the 5 day video history is perfect for almost everyone not only because its reasonably priced but also because 5 days of video is plenty.
24/7 Continuous recording
The other features included in those packages are 24/7 video recording, meaning it records video 24 hours a day 7 days a week. You won’t miss anything because it never stops recording.
Nest Aware has algorithms that can distinguish a person vs a thing, and also a dog barking vs a persons voice. Person alerts allows the camera to figure out who exactly is walking by the camera but that is greatly improved by familiar alerts as it learns a persons face better and can help you distinguish who exactly the camera captured a friend/family member or a stranger.
Clips and Timelapses
When you login to your Nest Aware account you’re able to create up to 24 hour time lapses and to quickly view and download everything that occurred within a 24 hour time frame. You’re also able to make clips of a certain thing that camera captured to download and share with friends and family.
The ability to set activity zones allows you to configure the camera to only capture a certain area of the room or say a doorway so that it only captures a certain place in order to not give you as many notifications.
